Why was the Traction Jack developed?

Traction Jack was developed to offer a multi-purpose tool for people who drive in demanding situations. It offers peace of mind when venturing into unknown areas alone or when driving in harsh conditions.

What does the device do?

Traction Jack resembles a sand rail to help you get unstuck from sand, snow, mud, gravel, etc. It also has the ability to aid in high centered vehicle situations when you have tires spinning in the air because the vehicle is bottomed out on something.

Why is it unique?

The patented, removable center mechanism is what makes the Traction Jack more versatile than the competition. Not only can you use it flat but it also raises up to 45 degrees like a jack for other applications.

How many ways can I use the device?

Traction Jack can be used for normal recoveries, high centered recoveries, as a jack support if using a hi-lift or regular jack on a soft surface, as wheel blocks for hill parking and winching, as a bridging device, driveway jack stands for oil changes etc., boat trailer platforms, and a hard standing surface to get to a roof rack or when standing in soft terrain.

How EXACTLY do I use the device?

Flat surface recovery: Assess which tires are the best to perform the recovery. Use your traction jack shovel to move as much sand (or whatever it is) away from the tire and get the device as close to the tire as possible. When it is situated properly you can simply give it some gas and get out.
High centered: Make sure the vehicle isn’t directly endangering someone (NEVER lay under an unstable vehicle). Determine the tires which will best suit the recovery. Slide the center mechanism in and secure if not already completed. Raise the Traction Jack to the proper height and slide under the elevated tire. It should be snug enough for the tire to get traction and get you out. Backing out is probably the best way.

Will it shoot out from under my tire?

No. The Traction Jack is heavy enough to hold itself in the ground without endangering someone because its surface holes create drag in the sand and prevent movement.

Can I drive my car over the ramp?

NO. When the Traction Jack is raised it is for high centered recoveries or “tire jack stands,” which means you never actually use it to raise the frame, you drive onto it like a ramp. DO NOT drive all the way over it when it is raised.

What size is it?

Traction Jack is an optimal choice for vehicle recovery without taking much space. Folded, it is only two feet long (2ft) and an inch and a fourth tall (1.25in). When you need it for heavy duty recoveries simply remove the center mechanism and you have one long four foot (4ft) traction plate.

I don’t off road.

That is O.K! Traction Jacks many uses make it practical for almost anyone. Driveway undercarriage vehicle work, providing a solid surface for your boat trailer in the water, and we are even developing simple traction plates without the center mechanism for ordinary commuters who may get stuck in various situations like snow.

Can I use Traction Jack to load an ATV or equivalent onto my trailer?

Yes, Traction Jacks durable and strong aluminum construction allows users to add this function to the list of capabilities once we eventually release the accessory to lock the plates in the flat position.

Will Traction Jack come in any other colors? If so, will it affect pricing?

Traction Jack will be available in various powder coated color schemes and it will cost a bit more than the standard colors. Examples to name a few include desert tan, olive drab green, carbon fiber scheme, reflective bright orange, etc. For all you who don’t know, powder coating is the strongest way to paint metal.

Can I drive my vehicle onto Traction Jack on the driveway and then lift it?

NO. It is a purely mechanical device and it is impossible to lift the vehicle. Not to mention very unsafe. The Traction Jack should already be elevated to the proper height before driving a vehicle on.

Isn’t there already a product like it?

Of course there are other sand rails you can waste your time buying. They’re long, don’t support much weight, and are expensive. Traction Jack is the ONLY product on the market that incorporates a genius center mechanism for lifting the plates, and is a sand rail. It folds so it won’t take up much space, can stay can stay outside your vehicle with mounting brackets, and its aluminum (metal) which won’t rust or snap.

What comes in a package?

When you purchase Traction Jacks “2 pack” you get the carrying case, speeder bar, 2 powder coated traction jack units, a mini folding recovery shovel, a protractor to measure angles, and 2 stickers. In the “4 pack” the only thing that doublesis the amount of traction jack, speeder bars, protractor, and totes.

What happens if something goes wrong with my devices?

Nothing in this world is perfect and even though we expect the longevity of each purchased set to be many years, sometimes something goes wrong. If so we will assess what needs to be done to satisfy you, our valued customer!

How much weight can the center mechanism take?

It has an approximate max load of 8,000 pounds (lbs.). No one tire is going to exert that much weight onto one Traction Jack (At least in the off road world). If you do the quick math, an Explorer Sport Trac weighs about 5,200 pounds. Distribute that between the 4 tires and you have only about 1,300 pounds on each unit. Now you see where the sturdiness comes from.
